Abner Marion Shiver was born 10 Jun 1854 in Dale County, Alabama, the 4th child and first son of Abner and Mary (JOHNSON) SHIVER. On 20 Dec 1874 in Pike County, Alabama he married Amanda F. BUNDRICK.
The known children of this couple are:
- George Ann, b. 5 Jan 1876, d. 9 Feb 1952. (Married William F. LAW).
- Mary Idella Frances, b. 1880, d. 1956. (Married John Stevenson WHITEHEAD).
- Caroline, b. 1882, d. abt 1907/1908. (Married John Stevenson WHITEHEAD).
Amanda died sometime between 1882 and 1884, and Abner Marion remarried on 23 Dec 1884 to Mary Eliza "Mollie" KING, daughter of William R. and Siby Ann KING.
The known children of this couple are:
- George Washington, b. 15 Apr 1887, d. 5 Jun 1968. (Married Artie Missie CHASON).

- Sybil Elmedia, b. 17 Mar 1892, d. 26 Sep 1951. (Married Perry Allen JONES).
- Isola Lemanda "Lee", b. 1 Feb 1895, d. 12 Jan 1977. (Married Joseph Daniel HOWELL).
- Liller, b. 19 Aug 1898, d. 28 Aug 1987. (Married Albert Wilson GILBERT).
- Annie Bell, b. 2 Dec 1900, d. 4 Apr 1973. (Married Crawford Lee SHIVER).
Abner Marion died on 23 Oct 1910 at Chancellor, Geneva County, Alabama and is buried in the Sardus Church Cemetery in Chancellor. After Abner's death, Mary moved to Florida and it was there that she died on 2 Apr 1935 in Bowling Green, Hardee County. She was buried in the Mt. Pisgah Church Cemetery.
