The State of South Carolina -- Know all men by these presents that we Hannah Shiver widow of John Shiver deceased, William Shiver and Melley his wife, Jacob Shiver and Darcus his wife, Abraham Shiver and Martha his wife, John Shiver and Lyddia his wife, James Shiver and Elizabeth his wife, Daniel Shiver son of John Shiver deceased and Elizabeth Shiver & Sarah Shiver daughters of the said John Shiver deceased, for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred pounds sterling money of the said State to us in hand paid by Thomas English of Kershaw County in the state aforesaid ~ Millwright son of Thomas English deceased, Have granted bargained sold and released, and by these presents do grant bargain sell and eelease and forever quit claim unto the said Thomas English his heirs and assigns forever, all that piece, parcel, plantation or tract of Land situate, lying and being on Swift Creek in the County aforesaid, containing One hundred acres more or less included within and bounded by the following lines, to wit, beginning [p. 358] at Tupelo Gum corner on the west side of Swift Creek and running from thence N-25W forty four chains seventy two links to a stake corner from thence S65 10 forty four chains seventy two links to a pine corner in Bear Branch thence down the said branch along the bed thereof to Swift Creek and from thence up the said Creek to the beginning aforesaid, the said Lands hereby intended to be conveyed being a part of a tract of two hundred acres originally granted by the said State to one Nicholas Swilla on the 3rd July 1786 and recorded in grant book N.N.N.N. page two hundred seventy nine, together with all and singular the rights, Members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any way incident or appertaining To have and to hold all and singular the said premises to the said Thomas English his heirs and assigns for ever.
