He was married firstly to Elizabeth C. HIGHSMITH on 11 Jan 1832 in Crawford County, Illinois. To this marriage were born 11 children:

The following obituary was located in the Robinson Argus Newspaper, dated 8 Oct 1884: "William Weger of Honey Creek Township died Sunday, and was buried by the Masonic Fraternity Monday. The deceased was about seventy-eight years of age and had been a citizen of the county for over sixty years. He was highly respected by his neighbors, and will be truly missed in the community." He was buried in Jones Cemetery, south of Flat Rock, in Crawford County, Illinois. His wife, Nancy Olivia, died in 1896.
