Sarah Shiver was born about 1841 in Dooly County, Georgia, a daughter of Manning Shiver and Sarah LOVE or NETTLES.
She was married about 1858 to Jasper Newton JOINER. The known children of this couple are:

- Jasper Newton Jr., b. abt. 1862.
- Anna F., b. abt. 1864.
