Canzada Shiver was born abt. 1816, probably in South Carolina, but perhaps in Georgia. She was the daughter of Abraham SHIVER and Martha ???.
She first married George CHERRY in Dec 1835 in South Carolina and they had one son:
- William Jackson, b. abt. 1837.
Her first husband died and she was married secondly to Arthur NEWMAN abt. 1840. They resided in Pulaski County, Georgia and the known children of this couple are::
- Catherine, b. 14 Jul 1841, d. 21 Dec 1911. (Married William G. HUNT).
- James, b. abt. 1842.
- Abraham William, b. 7 Jun 1843, d. 27 Jun 1902. (Married (1) Lucy FENN and (2)Mary Elizabeth CONNER).
- Jane G., b. abt. 1846.
- Georgianne, b. abt. 1847. (Married William Stephen DANIEL).
- Susan, b. abt. 1850. (Married John K. PARTIN).
- Hannah A.?, b. abt. 1852, d. 11 Dec 1880. (Married W. Hawkins KINCHEN).
- Nancy, b. abt. 1855. (Married Remus R. WOOD).
- Mary Rebecca, b. abt. 1857, d. 16 Dec 1880.
- Arthur G., b. abt. 1859. (Married Martha SANDERS).
- Alice, b. abt. 1860. (Married James S. FRINK).

Canzada died on 11 Oct 1880 in Hawkinsville, Pulaski County, Georgia. This death notice appeared in the Hawkinsville Dispatch of 14 Oct 1880. Her husband, Arthur, filed his last will and testament in Pulaski County on 15 Nov 1887 and followed her in death on 6 Mar 1888, also in Hawkinsville. His obituary also appeared in the Hawkinsville Dispatch. He is buried in the Hunt Cemetery in Pulaski County.
