Searching for information about Charles W. HOWELL, Branson HOWELL, Martha Ellen HOWELL BUTLER and Ada HOWELL BUTLER. Charles W. HOWELL had his grandchildren, Nell, Bessie, Claude HOWELL living with him after l890. They lived in the country outside of Robinson, Illinois. Charles W. HOWELL was supposed to have served in the Civil War two times. Looking for any information about this family.

I am interested in any information about a Charles INMAN that appears in the 1850 U.S. census as living in Crawford County, Illinois. His wife's name was Elizabeth and he was listed as a merchant. He was born about 1814 in Ohio. His wife and the five children listed in the census were born in Indiana.

Seeking info on William H. DOWNEY, Georgianna WEBSTER nee??, and family. William died 1873 in Crawford Co. Georgianna died abt 1878 also in Crawford Co. Wm. and his first Wife Mary had the following children; Ester (Eubanks),Emma ( Dillman) James, and William. Georgianna and her 1st husband had the twin girls, Alice Anna (Coleman) and Alma. Wm. and Georgianna had the following children; Jennie (Reed), Adelia (Snearley) and Zona (YOCKEY) b. 1873.

George Washington KELLOGG was born on 1 Aug 1864 in Ill (possibly Crawford county). We believe he was an orphan at a young age. Later he married Sarah Ellen SHUPERT and they had the following children: Guy, Ernest, George, Paul, Nina, and Pearl. We are trying to find the names of his parents. We do not have a birth record. Any information is appreciated.

Have just recently learned that my ggg grandparents came to Texas from Crawford County, Illinois. Micham MAIN b. 1794 to 1800, married Elizabeth VAN_WINKLE on August 20, 1820 in Crawford County. They had 5 children in Illinois... William, Elisha Harmon, Leonard and Riley. 1 son born in the Republic of Texas: Thomas Franklin. The notes which I have referenced indicate that Elizabeth's family was among the early settlers at Fort Motte. The Mains left Crawford Co. for Texas in the 1830's. Did they maintain their ties to Illinois? Is there any existing correspondence? Who are Micham's parents? The spelling of his name varies...Micham, Micam, Meachum, Mitchum. Were there Illinois marriage licenses in 1820? Mains were Methodists but may have traveled to Palestine, Texas with the PARKER family (also of Crawford Co.) who were Primitive Baptists of Pilgrim Predestination Church. Thanks for any leads. Will be happy to share info of Main's life in Texas.

Looking for any HORNBECK or HORNBACK from Crawford Co., IL area, specifically Nathaniel HORNBECK born 1830 KY and Elizabeth (BAKER) HORNBECK found 1860 and 1870 Spencer Co., IN census who disappeared after the 1870 census. They may have come to this county per family tradition. Also looking for my two BAKER lines from the same area, one from SC to Warrick Co., IN and another from Erie Co., PA area. Looking for info. on William Andrew SUGGS and Mattie WEBSTER Believed to have moved to Crawford Co. Il. in 1925, and lived together as man and wife. Mattie ran away from her husband, Wm. WEBSTER in latter part of 1925. Mr. WEBSTER filed for divorce Nov.1926,and was final Jan.1927. Therefore,she could not have been married to SUGGS. Cannot find divorce or re-marriage of SUGGS and WEBSTER in IN., therefore believe it all happened in IL.

Looking for descendants of Samuel M. BROWNING, who married first Margaret MARKEE in 1815 in Harrison Co OH and second, Sarah GADDIS in 1860 in Crawford County. His son, James, married Jane NEVITT in Harrison Co, OH in 1839 and lived in Crawford County until his death in 1852. James and Jane had the following children: Elias b. 1840, Joseph b. 1842, Thomas b. 1844, Sarah E. b. 1846, Mary J. b. 1847, and Margaret b. 1849. Looking to correspond with anyone descended from this family.
