I am researching my CROUCH lineage. I have, thanks to the discovery of a long lost cousin: Mary Kathryn Crews-Kozy (thanks cuz!), traced it back to Elihu CROUCH (b. 14 Jul 1812 in Crawford Co., IL?; d. 25 Mar 1869 in Lawrence Co., IL) married (when?)Charity HIGGINS (b. 21 MAR 1824 in Crawford Co.? - d. 21 Mar 1901 in Lawrence Co., IL). They had at least two children: Alexander CROUCH (1842 - 1929) & Abram Newton "Abraham" CROUCH (b. 04 May 1857-d. 27 May 1909 in Lawrence Co., IL). I'd really like some info on Elihu's parentage. Either he or Charity was full-blooded Native American according to our "oral family history" not to mention my looks!<G> Please help if you can?

Seeking information on all descendats of Robert HOLADAY (b 1791 NC d 1837-8 Crawford Co IL) son of Robert HOLADAY and Hannah NEWLIN. Robert married 1817 to Margaret WILLARD (b 1787 NC d 1834) daughter of Martin WILLARD and Rachel ??. Looking for all descendants. Children: Rachel (b 1818), William (b 1819), Elizabeth (b 1821) and Henry (b 1826). Only information I have is Henry (1) married Abigail PREVO.

Researching the METHENY - MATHENY - SHEDELBOWER Names. I have a Preston METHENY, supposed killed in Civil War, s/o James P. METHENY of Bellaire. Indications was he is buried in Leamon Cemetery in Crawford County. If anyone has an index of Leamon Cemetery, and could confirm Prestons burial place. I would also like to know the Regiment and Co. he served with. Any other direct decendents of James P. Metheny, please respond. James lived in Bellaire and raised 10 children. Emigrated to Jasper/Crawford County in 1840, and died in Bellaire. He is buried in Bellaire Cemetery along with his wife Phoebe (WHEELER) Metheny.

WALKER I am looking for information on Aquilla WALKER (born in North Carolina around 1800) who lived near Hardinsville in Crawford County, Illinois in the early 1850s. My information indicates he may have moved on to the Kansas or Nebraska Territories with his wife Elizabeth DYER Walker. Would appreciate any information you may have and am willing to share the information I have on this family. I am especially interested in Aquilla's children and his death date.

I am looking for info on the death-where and when of John H. RUSSELL born 2-19-1813 in Pa. He was mar to Polly/Mary MCDANIEL on 11-01-1841 in Crawford Co. He was on the 1850,60,70 Crawford Co census living in Palestine. In 1880 his wife and one of his daughters-Martha RUSSELL was living with his son John William. So he died somewhere between 1870 and 1880. His children were Hannah, Martha, George Riley, Sally, and John William. All born in Il, between 1842 and 1851. Polly/Mary's father's name was James MCDANIEL who also lived in Crawford Co. He was living there when Polly/Mary was born 11-24-1816. Her father was born abt 1797 in Chester Co, SC.

Looking for Mishac MARTIN family history. Grand-son was Charles Hubert MARTIN born in 1905, Lawrence County, Illinois. Information has that the family spent time also in Crawford County, IL. Possibly that Mishac was born there.
